Course description

This course covers the basics of the AutoCAD Mechanical 2018 user interface and leads you step-by-step through producing precise, measured mechanical engineering drawings and designs. It teaches you how to structure your drawings and data, create and edit geometry, generate parts from the library, and annotate your drawings. Once your designs are adequately detailed, he shows how to create documentation and perform design calculations you'll need for manufacturing. Last but not least, learn how to create templates that are customized to suit your AutoCAD Mechanical workflow, complete with layers, properties, and parts lists.

What will i learn?

  • Apply elements of mechanical drafting such as layers, dimensions, drawing formats, and 2D figures in projects
  • Apply basic CAD concepts to develop and construct accurate 2D geometry through creation of basic geometric constructions.
  • Evaluate mechanical designs and select the proper process and materials for production.
  • Create, manipulate and edit 2D drawings and figures.
  • Create 3D surface models using a variety of techniques.
  • Extract two-dimensional views from a three-dimensional model for detail drafting.

  • This course is meant for Diploma holders, Graduates, Post graduates and Engineers. The candidate must possess a mininum of B.Eng/HND or any equivalents in an engineering field. The candidate must possess the willingness to learn.
